Interpretation of Theme: Defying gravity can be interpreted in so many ways from the representation of a bird in flight to majestic mountains soaring upwards from the earth or the twirl of a dancer in midair. Challenging gravity can also have a deep emotional meaning. It can be compared to the center of our human existence and how we remain grounded in spite of turmoil and chaos in everyday life. It can be the uplifting words in a moment of despair to the gravitational pull our families have on us. What is defying gravity mean to you as an artist? Show us through your artworks how you interpret this theme. All types of art are encouraged. Broad interpretation of theme is encouraged and not limited to just representational art. Abstract, collages, photography, jewelry, and other types of art are welcomed to submit, as long as they are tied into the theme of the exhibit. If you are unsure of how to approach this theme, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Eligibility:
